My tour of the Maasai Mara with Penda was nothing short of brilliant. When you travel to a place as incredible as Kenya you always have very high expectations, and Penda delivered. The tour was very well organised, the staff at the camp, the food, the accommodation and logistics were all amazing. But it’s the people that always make a tour special, and our guide and drivers were brilliant, making sure we got the best access to see and photograph the incredible wildlife of the Maasai Mara. Big shout out to Hanna, our guide, for her expertise and making sure we got the most amazing shots. I can highly recommend Penda if you are ever considering a wildlife photography tour.

I feel very lucky to have been able to take part in the Masai Mara Photography Project with Penda. The wildlife encounters, from big cats to river crossings and much more, surpassed all of my expectations. It was also interesting to learn about the conservation successes and challenges in the wider ecosystem. The accommodation, staff and food were excellent and it was nice to be part of a diverse group of other participants. Hanna and Sam, the tour leaders, were great and taught me a lot about editing images as well as improving my photography in the field, the challenge will be to keep it up! Penda made the process of booking very easy and were always on hand to help, even checking in whilst on the trip which was a nice touch. I would definitely travel with them in the future and recommend them to others.

Botswana’s Serolo Bushcamp nestled in the Tuli Wilderness, is a wildlife photographer’s dream. The terrain features wide rivers and rocky cliffs. But the real magic? You’re the sole audience to a wide variety of wild animals. No safari traffic jams; just you, the lens, and animals in their natural habitat. The Serolo rangers, friendly and knowledgeable, ensure prime photo ops. Plus, unexpected riverside meals from the talented Serolo staff added a gourmet twist. Highly recommended for an intimate, unforgettable adventure.

This trip definitely reached my expectations; I got exposed to much more than I expected. The particular care and attentiveness of the instructors was a couple steps above my previous experiences with photo workshops. I would recommend Penda.

Without doubt it was one of the best photographic trips and adventures that I have undertaken in the last 15 years. Emil was outstanding as the lead for the group and the other two members were really good as well so all in all it made for a fabulous journey. The variety of both animals and landscapes made the trip so interesting and we had one or two wow moments when we encountered something really special.

I had fun, met new people from different parts of the world, saw many wonderful animals, was well taken care of and felt safe within each of the two lodges. Photography workshops were full of good help and advice where it was needed. I left this holiday with a light and satisfied heart.

This trip far surpassed my expectations. Having such good guides/trackers, and such an experienced approachable photographer ensured that we saw plenty of wildlife and photographed them in the best conditions and positions. Had such a wonderful time.

It was FANTASTIC! The food was plentiful and delicious and the accommodations were quite comfortable. Sam is an excellent teacher and I would HIGHLY recommend his workshop to photographers of any skill level. It’s truly amazing what we accomplished in one short week. The game drives were first rate and the opportunities they presented plentiful. In particular the number and variety of leopard sightings were simply outstanding. Alan Hewitt was a first rate tutor and coach as well as being an engaging and committed host.
